Shay Mitchell is a Canadian actor, model and entrepreneur. The most famous part she played was that of Emily Fields from the Freeform television series Pretty Little Liars. After having a great time in dance and modelingshe wanted to try her hand at acting and took acting lessons in Toronto. Mitchell landed guest roles and commercials before getting her big break. Both the critics and the audience praised her for her talent. She went on to become a star in the world of big screen with films such as DreamlandMother's Dayand The possession of Hannah Grace. She starred in psychological thriller series 'You,it garnered more attention. Aside from actingShay has also dabbled in writing. She co-authored Bliss an adult-oriented novel alongside Michaela Blayne. Shay Mitchell was raised in Ontario by parents Mark Mitchell & Precious Gonzalez. Shay Mitchell was born on 10th April, 1987. She's of Filipina descent, and her father comes from Irish/Scottish origins. Mitchell's cousin is Lea Salonga who is a popular musical theater actor and actress. As a child, Mitchell attended Rockridge Secondary prior to transferring to West Vancouver Secondary School. As a teenager, she was already models for various companies across several countries. After traveling through Barcelona, Bangkok and Hong Kong she went back to Toronto, where she studied acting.
