Tina Louise

Tina Tina Amanda AmandaMaureen was a natural athlete who loved to play tough sports games. Her passion was coupled with a natural talent for performance. This was demonstrated by her being the recipient of nearly every Feis award in drama or musical performances that her country could offer. By age 14 she was admitted to the famed Abbey Theater and pursued her dreams of performing in classical theatre as well as operatic singing. Charles Laughton became captivated with the stunning eyes of Maureen after seeing a screen test. Laughton changed her name to Maureen FitzSimons and changed her name from Maureen FitzSimons, to "Maureen O'Hara" it was a shorter version of her name. This name change occurred just before Laughton was able to cast her in Jamaica Inn. Maureen FitzSimons' subsequent film (The Hunchback of Notre Dame 1939) was to be filmed with RKO Pictures in America under the terms of a contract with Laughton. Her contract with Laughton was purchased by RKO after this epic movie was a great successful. Maureen was 19 when she starred with Laughton in two movies.
